A search for the perfect place to fit can be challenging. Do you want a seat that conforms to you? A sinking cushion where you can settle for hours? Or do you want a firm chair that’ll keep you straight? The problem is that there are so many great options [and a few not so great ones!] Thankfully, there are ways to narrow down the choices. Here’s a few things to keep in mind [so that you can make up your mind!]
First off, how much space do you have for your seating? If you’re strapped for space you want to go for a chair that doesn’t take up too much room like an armchair, a recliner, or a rocker. On the other hand, if you have a ton of space with nothing quite filling it then you can invest in one of the larger options like a sectional, loveseat, or couch. All of these options are lovely in their own way but you definitely want to make sure they fit in their allotted space. It doesn’t matter how amazing your couch is if you don’t have space for it!
Another good thing to keep in mind when choosing your seating is what you’re using it for. If you want a full set of chairs for your dining room then you probably don’t want a team of recliners sitting around your dinner table. Likewise, if you want to sit around watching TV with your friends and family then you probably imagine it to be something other than a bunch of people sitting on barstools in front of the living room TV. In those situations the seating isn’t necessarily bad but definitely not its intended use. Always keep in mind what you’re using your chairs for before picking them out.
While comfort isn’t the only factor it’s usually the biggest one when deciding on which seat is best. You want to be comfortable — especially when you spend your money on something that will, hopefully, be a part of your household for years to come. And it’s also often personalized — what’s comfortable for you is not always comfortable for someone else! A firm armchair, a soft couch, or a recliner that’s somewhere in between — which sounds best to you?
Hopefully this list helps you to decide what seating is best for you but, if you’re still on the fence about what might work, come by our showroom and test out the seating for yourself. Remember, “you can trust’em at Custom!”
